Your Children Will Learn:

Each session, the children will experience hands on learning about farm life, cooking, gardening, farm projects and tending to animals including cows, sheep, pigs and chickens. The children enjoy imaginative free play in the tree house, play structure and zip line throughout the day.

Our workshops weave community-minded themes, play-based learning, mindfulness practices, life skills, and entrepreneurial studies into learning.

The Natural Healing Skills of Our Past Can Be Brought Back to Life and Live On In Our Children

Each week we will be studying specific herbs and botanicals. The students use their five senses to explore plant allies then draw and detail them in a beautiful botanical journal. The children create hand made products, including tinctures, teas, salves, preserves, bath and body care products, candles, herbal remedies, soap, art and home goods. A portion of the herbal products we make in class contribute to a monthly market on the farm hosted by the students. The proceeds help support Nourishing Food for Thought at Jupiter Creamery.

Each week we will be learning about the properties of various herbs and botanicals. We touch, taste, smell and create with it and learn how we can incorporate it into our daily lives. Whether it be to consume for food or healing, to use topically, or even to clean with, your children will get to know everyday and native herbs.

Herbs
Culinary

Each week the children will explore their culinary skills in the kitchen. We'll prepare nutrient dense foods and delightful snacks together and foster a love of preparing food.

Our small herb garden allows us to create a deeper connection to the earth and our food. The children will help to plant, nurture and harvest their own herbs.

Gardening

With the majority of our workshops taking place outside, we encourage bare feet, plenty of unstructured play and grounding. We’ll be studying some of the native Florida plants, spending time in harmony with nature and enjoying the sounds of a working farm.

Nature

Hi, my name is Tara! I started Wild Life Workshops For Kids with a passion to reconnect children to nature and teach them the magic of plants and botanicals. I believe it’s more important than ever for children to sit in nature, understand their local ecosystem, where their food comes from and know the healing properties of the plants around us.

My own studies of herbalism and holistic nutrition began many years ago through coursework and apprenticeship and have lead to a more balanced and connected life for myself and my own two children.

I have more than twenty years of experience working with children and teens in various capacities including childcare, daycare, summer camps, respite care working with children on the autism spectrum as well as mentorship and teaching holistic/natural studies to students of all ages in micro schools. I have studied child development courses, positive discipline courses, mindfulness based stress reduction courses, Son-Rise Program courses for children on the autism spectrum and I'm thoroughly educated in trauma informed approaches to children. I absolutely love working with children, discovering their unique spark and connecting with them through playful and lighthearted learning.

Wild Life is passionate about herbal and holistic studies, the healing power of immersive nature and inspiring children to be wild at heart for life!

Workshops on the farm truly have been beautiful and we can't wait for you to join us!
